Hot summer months - Beach, Pool, Parties, BBQ's, Camping, Hiking. ... Fun yes! But I know you also want to keep the results you worked hard for over the past few months. So I put together the following tips to help you stay on track, and keep the results you worked hard for.

Staying fit and keeping up with your workouts during the summer months is really not as hard as it sounds. Here are some simple tips to help you stay in great shape all summer.

1) Keep Active - I know it sound obvious lol.. but what I mean is if you take time off from the gym, (which is totally ok,) just be sure you are doing other things that keep you active. e.g. Take 20 min brisk walk or jog before you go to the beach. The water will feel that much better. Or simply add in some extra outdoor activities to keep you moving each week. As long as you are staying active you will maintain your results better. 

2) Eat Lot's of Fruit - Staying hydrated is a challenge for many people. So this summer be sure to eat lots of in season fruits, (Watermelon, Oranges, Strawberries, Cherries, Rhubarb, Peaches, Plums) Don't want to fill up on too many carbs? Try adding frozen blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries to keep your water cold and add flavor. They also add a pop of color to your drink. You can either add a few frozen berries directly to your water or use ice cube trays to freeze berries into cubes.

3) Going to The Cottage, or on a Vacation? - It's a vacation first of all.. so honestly, it's actually ok if you don't want to do too much exercise. Your mind and body may need the rest. But there are plenty of ways to have fun, and exercise at the same time. Things like swimming, canoeing, or simply going for a walk. Or you can always go berry picking, rock collecting, or photographing. You'll end up doing lots of bending and possibly reaching up high which will work your arms, core, thighs and calves. Plus if you're lucky you may even get fresh, revitalizing fruit when you?re done.
