Dear community,

After much reflection, we’ve made the very difficult decision to close our gym and we won’t be looking for a new space to lease.
The past 10 years of serving our community were some of the most rewarding years of our lives. We feel blessed to have shared so many wonderful memories with all of you, and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for each of you.
We want you to know that even though we are closing, we are still here for you. We care deeply, and we understand how much your gym means to you too. We will be sending you our love and positive energy on a daily basis for years to come.
More than anything else, we want you to keep working out, improving your health and taking time for self-care.
We plan to continue operating online, and we promise to reveal the details of that in the coming weeks via email. But if that doesn’t interest you, we understand too. We realize that some of you will want to return to a physical location, and we’ll offer our best recommendations for you.
For those who are interested in joining us online, we’ll talk about how we can help you stay fit and healthy. If interested please email:
If you have any questions or concerns please email: We will be answering these emails over the next few weeks. Each request will be assessed on an individual basis, and we ask for your patience as this process can take some time. Please allow 5-10 business days for a reply.
Why did we make this decision?
We've decided to offer a little more info so that all of our valued clients might understand better why we’re making this decision.
First, we want to be very clear about several things.
Our decision isn’t political. We don’t blame the government or the fitness industry or COVID-19. We support the public-health measures issued by the government, but the reality is that these restrictions have completely changed the industry.
Here’s how we see “the new fitness industry”:
Covid-19 isn’t gone, and the fear of attending a gym isn’t going away for a while. Many of you have said you can’t wait to get back to the gym, and a number of you have already returned. However; the reality is that there is a very high level of uncertainty, and dire predictions for the brick-and-mortar fitness industry.
Having already sustained heavy initial losses from the mandated closure, and with limited access to additional capital we needed to stop the bleeding, and make the best decision for our family.
Limitations on class size, spacing requirements, cleaning procedures, screening at entry, discouraging congregation—all declared necessary for public health. But that is not the business we opened, and the old plan just doesn’t work anymore. Many of the things that made our gym special when we first opened have changed, and many things within us have changed as well.
We still passionately want to help people improve their health, fitness and well-being. And we can still do that. Over the last six months, we proved to ourselves that we can still help people get fit and healthy online. We know it with certainty.
In April 2011 Amy and I opened Lift out of a small 1700 sq foot space. We invested ourselves fully in the business and pushed very hard in a tough industry for over a decade. We loved it. We’re proud of what we built together with all of you, and we have thousands of fond memories shared with people who amazed us daily.
In closing, although this decision comes with a lot of tears for us, we know it’s the right one for our family.
We’d like to thank every single person who’s ever trained with us for an amazing decade. We’re honored that you spent time with us.
To our current clients, you mean the world to us. Your support through this time has fueled us and motivated us. We are deeply grateful for you. You inspire us daily with your commitment and effort. If you need anything right now, you know how to contact us.
With much love,
Silas & Amy
